Moldova Updates National Frequency Bands Allocation Table

As of October 4, 2023, the Republic of Moldova has made significant updates to its National Table of Frequency Band Allocation. This revision, detailed in Decision № 1 dated September 15, 2023, has been officially published in the National Official Journal. These changes are important for businesses and individuals who utilize frequency bands for various communication and technology applications.

Key Updates in the National Frequency Allocation Table:

1. Railway Mobile Radio (RMR) Networks Expansion

‍Note RN034 in Appendix No. 2 has been updated. The phrase “Reserve number” is replaced with the phrase: “Starting from January 1, 2024, the frequency bands 874.4–880 MHz paired with 919.4–925 MHz, as well as the frequency band 1900–1910 MHz are intended for non-exclusive use railway mobile radio (RMR) networks in accordance with the provisions of Decision ECC/DEC/(20)02.

2. Enhancements in Fixed and Mobile Communication Networks (MFCN)

Note РН037 in Appendix No. 2 now includes the following: “The frequency bands 880-915 MHz, 925-960 MHz, 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz are intended for the implementation of fixed and mobile communication networks (MFCN) in accordance with ERC/DEC decisions /(94)01, ERC/DEC/(97)02 and ECC/DEC/(06)13. The provisions of CEPT recommendations ECC/REC(05)08, ECC/REC(08)02 and decisions ECC/DEC(22)01 and ECC/DEC(22)07 are also applicable.”

3. Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Applications

After Note РН049, a new Note РН049А has been added to Appendix No. 2. The update includes the following: “The use of ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is permitted in the bands below 10.6 GHz in accordance with the provisions of CEPT Decision ECC/DEC(06)04.”

Additionally, the List of Abbreviations in Appendix No. 3 now includes "RMR – Railway Mobile Radio Network," reflecting the expanded focus on RMR systems.
